Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to the questions about what it’s like working with Datrick’s remote developers.

Why Datrick?

We’re glad you asked. Having had years of experience in the development industry, we know (and you likely have experienced) that things can be really nasty. So, we aim to restore our clients’ faith in developers and provide a reliable and steady income method for trusted talent. We also thoroughly vet developers who work with us to ensure that they have an impeccable work ethic and the skills and expertise needed to independently handle projects.

How do you vet your developers?

Upon hiring developers, we perform several stages of verification. First, we review each applicant’s resume and portfolio. Next, we conduct a live interview with them, assign a test task, and assess their written and oral English skills. Finally, we perform identity and background checks and assign a test task to them. If they pass all of the above, they are on board and ready to join our team.
We dedicate our full-time developers as outsources to your projects, and we perform thorough reviews to ensure their skillset and expertise match your project’s requirements.

Can I see the developer’s CV and portfolio before they begin working on my project?

Yes, you can. After you share the details and expectations of your project, we will match you with the most suitable talent for your specific requirements. You can review their resume and portfolio before they start working on the project.

Do your developers speak fluent English?

A lot can get lost in translation. So, upon vetting and contracting developers, we make sure that their level of English is at professional working proficiency or higher.

Can I communicate directly with the developer or developers that are assigned to me?

Yes, once you hire them, you can create your own communication channels.

How fast can you start working on my project?

We aim to make sure that all the legalities are sorted out before we commence work. Therefore, it usually takes 7-10 business days to initiate a project, including contract signatures and legal processes.

Once the project is completed, do I own the intellectual property rights to the project?

Absolutely. You’re the master of your project at all times.

Are you open to signing an NDA?

Of course. We love our work and respect your business and intellectual property. All parties involved in the development of your project will sign an NDA.

Is there a minimum number of hours that the engagement with Datrick requires?

On a monthly basis, we expect you to assign a workload of a minimum of 140 hours. This ensures that your project moves forward at a steady pace and that your dedicated developer is fully immersed and invested in it.

Can I get a project estimate before the work begins?

Yes. After our initial conversation, we will select the best talent for your project and draft a project timeline and proposal. This will include the estimated number of hours and investment. Keep in mind that the exact number of hours and investment can vary as the project execution process may have unexpected developments. We will, however, let you know if the project will require more time or budget.

What tools and technologies do you work with?

We’ve got to admit that we love our tech, and it would be hard to sum it all up in a single paragraph. We almost entirely cover legacy and modern stacks, and you can take a quick look at some of the tools and technologies that we are proficient in by checking out the solutions we offer. In addition to that, we also support niche requirements within a given 1-2-week period. So, just go ahead and let us know the specific stack you are looking for.

Are contracts fixed rate or on an hourly basis?

All of the contracts will have a pre-determined hourly rate, and you will receive an estimate of how many hours the project is expected to take.

What are your hourly rates?

The hourly rates of our remote developers range between USD35 to USD45, depending on their expertise, skill set, and seniority.

How and when will I be billed?

First of all, you will be required to pay a deposit. It will be used to cover the final two weeks of the project. From there on, you will be billed weekly, with a 2-week notice period. We use Stripe to process all payments in a secure and reliable manner.

Are there any upfront costs that I need to cover?

Before we begin working on your project, you will be asked to pay a deposit. This will be equivalent to the last two weeks of the project, paid upfront.

What should I do if I do not get along with a developer?

While we do our best to match you with the most suitable talent for your needs, things don’t always work out. Unfortunately, not all matches are made in heaven. That’s alright. If issues escalate and you are not able to reach common ground with your developer, please reach out to our COO, Furkan, directly.
